A second #FloodlightFriday trip to Leamington, the Brakes and the excellent Windmill Wonderland fanzine. I think I’ve explained this before, the club was established in 1933 as the works team of Lockheed Borg and Beck, and made brakes hence the nickname. Anyway we’re back because sometimes you discover a photo so bad it’s good.

The cover of issue 64 carries a great but perhaps unlikely photo of Uncle Albert as he celebrates the fact that the club has won the 2012/13 Southern Football League Premier Division title earning promotion to the Conference North because obviously. This was achieved under legendary manager Paul Holleran, who has recently moved to the Yeltz, Halesowen as Assistant manager.

Floodlights? Lets get right to it. On the first page of a great Groundhopper feature there is, I think, a photo of the floodlights at Godalming Town. Do not adjust your sets, I have not messed with this, that is the actual photo as it appears in WW. The trip to Godalming is magnificent in itself, pale hot dogs and a Ukelele trio providing entertainment. I’m not sure that white thing is the floodlight for the pitch but you can’t deny that it LOOKS like a sort of floodlight. They do have them at the ground, I nicked this brilliant photo off the internet.

That “terracing” is also worth searching for a clearer photo of. Magnifique.

Never fear, the next page definitely has floodlights, well, the MENTION of floodlights at Littleton FC anyway because once again we can enjoy again an absolutely superb photo.

The Loughborough University stadium probably does have floodlights but neither the words or pictures confirm this though once again we have Uncle Albert, this time being rude.

It’s been a busy week, the word floodlights is definitely there if nothing else. Fin.
